Active since 1995, Swedish d**h metal band Chastisement hails from the city of Ostersund, and is made up of vocalist Johan Klitkou, guitarists Marcus Edvardsson, and Tommy Larsson, ba**ist Nicklas Linnes, and drummer Nils Fjellstrom. Influenced by fellow Swedes such as Entombed, Edge of Sanity, and God Macabre, their brutal but technical, relatively melody-free style was first heard on a 1997 demo tape, and a debut album entitled ...But Lost We Are appeared two years later.
