Elizabeth Sheaffer - My Fair Lady lyrics

I once had a small yellow dog. She lived in a house down the hill. One morning there came up a fog, So thick and so dark it could k**. I went out to give her some food, But to my wondering eyes did appear, A rusty old chain on a crude Dirty house, but my dog was not near. I frantically searched through the yard; High and low I did hunt. I looked so long and so hard, But there was no sign of the runt. I ran up the hill with haste To tell everyone of the news. Up and inside I raced To tell of the dog I did lose. I came to a stop at the door, My eyes as big as saucers. She was lying on the kitchen floor, And I thought I had lost her!
