Brutus k**s Caesar in the name of liberty (Document A).This is significant because it shows that Brutus thinks that one-man rule is dangerous enough to have him murder his friend. Therefore, he believes in democracy enough to be willing to sacrifice lives. Furthermore, Ca**ius states that there was once a Brutus who would let a devil rule Rome before he let a king rule (Document E).This shows that the Brutus line has never really liked one-man rule. Therefore, Marcus Brutus probably holds the same ideals towards democracy as his ancestors did. All of these points prove that Brutus believes strongly in a democratic government. Brutus k**ed Caesar for the sake of his country, Rome. Brutus states “not that I have loved Caesar less, but that I loved rome more” (Document A). This shows that Brutus is very patriotic, to the point where nationalism is more important to him than his friends. Therefore, Brutus k**ed Caesar because he thought that would help his country, Rome. Brutus also states that he stands against the spirit of Caesar (Document E). This means that Brutus stands against the idea of one-man rule, since Caesar was showing signs of becoming king. Therefore, Brutus thinks that Rome would do better under a democracy, not a kingship. Both of these facts prove that Brutus k**ed Caesar for the sake of Rome
