Angelique B - Week 7 Reading Journal lyrics

9/23/13 Today i continued to read the book i was reading om Friday . I thought it was that good of a book. I started in om the chapters today. i didn't get to finish chapter one but so far so good. this chapter went into more depth about Jay-Z's life as a teen leading up to when he became noticed. 9/24/13 Today i finished the first chapter. it was good. it talked about how jay-Z started to come up and how at first he didn't even want to be in the industry because he was making a lot of money selling d** and being a part of the drug cartel. Also it talked about how he fell out with one of his closest friends and it gave a foreshadow at the end that him and Damon Dash became friends but it went on to state that "if they were still working together they would be billionaires." 9/25/13 Today i started the next chapter. it got into more details about Jay-z's come up . it talked about his first album and when Atlantic records wouldn't sign him he; he and Damon dash created their own record label called Roc-A-Fella inspired by John D. Rockefeller 9/26/13 Today i finished the previous chapter. By the end, Jay Z had his own label and was building his own brand by creating clothes and high quality/priced liquor. He and Dash Fell out and he recorded a song with Biggie. 9/27/13 Today i read three chapters. all of which were mostly about Jay-Z's brand and his come up to the top . which included his beef with Nas and Mobb Deep . The 3rd chapter though was about how Jay-Z always compared himself to Michael Jordan; and how they both were the greatest at what they did and then the chapter led to Jay-Z and Michael both buying basketball teams.
