All human life's here
Said the junkie to the queer
As they helped the stricken drag star to her feet
And cradling her between them
They made their quiet way
To a fancy little bar across the street
Now I was sitting in the corner
When the trio made their entrance
And they sat down at the table next to mine
While the junkie poured out a water
The boy went mescala
And the queen let the waiter choose the wine
Well I've seen it all before
Said a body from the floor
There ain't nothing in this town that's new to me
Now it transpired that the boy
Had been brutally attacked
By someone whome he'd taken for a ride
And money had been pa**ed
But the goods were not in hand
At least not those that had been advertised
And he lay there on the ground
And the city lights shone down on him
And the crowds walked around him on the street
And he lay there on the ground
Till the junkie and the queen arrived
To help him to his feet
Well I've seen it all before
Said a body from the floor
There ain't nothing in this town that's new to me
