My definition of a hero is someone willing to risk their life to save someone else's. Luke Skywalker for example is a child that grows into a mature young man capable of helping others when needed. Luke Skywalker fulfills the hero role in many ways. Leia, one of the main characters cries out for his help in a scene of the story. “Who is that…? She's beautiful.” Luke finding her so attractive is more than willing to help her with her mission. Along their Journey he saves them from being smashed with a garbage disposal and destroys the d**h star. Monty from Daddy's Little Girls is the perfect example of a hero. His daughters are taken out of his custody and are put in the hands of their Mother and Stepfather because of an incident. Then, the stepfather steps out of line! “Where did he hit you?” Monty searches for Joe (stepfather) to fight and defend his daughter. He cannot tolerate someone putting their hands on his baby girl.
Monty, in my opinion is a better example of a hero than Luke Skywalker. He takes more responsibility with the fact that he's a father although Luke is just a child. For example when his house caught on fire from the girl's being home alone, he immediately rushed to the hospital not caring what he was doing or where he was. “I need to see my kids.” This caused Monty to lose custody of the girls but it did not prove that he was irresponsible or a bad father. Monty fits my description of a hero better than Luke Skywalker. Although Luke is still a great hero, Monty is even greater. He plays his role well and doesn't fail at the tasks he is given.
