Alina Paiz - Week 5 Reading journal lyrics

9/9/13 I read Holes, it's about a guy who got accused of stealing a pair of shoes and gets sent to a correctional camp that make you dig holes but no one knows why they dig holes . They dig holes because the warden is looking for a treasure , later Stanley finds out that its his long lost grandfathers treasure . He makes friends and one of the friends named Zero , they called him Zero because he didn't know how to read or write but Stanley is about to change that. They later on realize that Zero's family member put a curse on Stanley's. This story is basically a tale . 9/11/13 I read about a girl named Valerie Sanetrik's and it happens to be her birthday on September 11th. They still celebrate her birthday but they also celebrate the birthdays of the victims of 9/11 , so they buy one cake with candles for Valerie and one cake with candles for the victims . They pay alot of respect for them and they would never be forgotton. 9/12/13 I read about Syria today and found out that the army is trying to take over the Christian city of Maaloula as said by a BBC journalist, the heavy fighting is still going on . This story was updated 5 hours ago and I'm pretty sure it has not finished yet . 9/13/13 I read CNN breaking news and they said they still might strike against Syria even though Syria asked the United States to call of the threat . I don't think they should strike because that would set off a chain reaction of wars all around the world.
